Intense Dragon Age: Origins Pre-Order Bonuses

A lot of bang for your buck

Pre-order bonuses continue to be the latest trend to get gamers into stores before a game hits shelves and make them give up their money early. EA and Bioware are the latest to jump on onboard of ridiculously lavish packages with the upcoming Dragon Age: Origins.

For $74.99 ($64.99 on PC), This impressive collector's edition boasts a number of cool collectibles and in-game items for you to really stick out amongst a crowd of faithful Dragon Age players. Outside of the cool packaging, Dragon Age: Origins collector's edition comes with an actual cloth map to help you navigate the world of Dragon Age. Also included is a DVD with a making-of documentary, a digital copy of the game's soundtrack, and concept art.

But that's not all! Players who pre-order the Dragon Age: Origins collector's edition will also receive a number of in-game items as well (also obtainable for those that pre-order the standard edition). Firstly, DAO pre-orders will receive The Stone Prisoner download pack which grants them access to Shale, a mighty stone golem who can become one of the most powerful party members in the game. The add-on also comes with a number of unique quests, environments, and items to further lengthen you DOA experience. This add-on pack will be available at no extra charge for purchasers of new copies of the game, and will also be sold seperately for $15.

Secondly, pre-ordering gamers will receive a code to download the Blood Dragon Armor which is an exclusive Dragon Age themed set of armor that grants the player more protection in combat. Strangely enough, this set of armor can also be worn in EA and Bioware's upcoming sci-fi sequel epic, Mass Effect 2.

And lastly, as if that wasn't enough already, players will get the "memory band," an in-game item that adds +1% to all gained Experience Points as well as adds one bonus point for use in boosting a character's skill set.

Whew. That's a lot of shit for an extra $15 (on console).

Dragon Age: Origins will release on November 3rd in the U.S. and November 6th in Europe on the Xbox 360 and PC. The Sony Playstation 3 version will follow later in November.
