The final keynote conference of E3, Sony took the stage at 11 AM PST. Expectations were pretty high, and after Microsoft's amazing show yesterday, we all wondered if Sony was going to be able to top them. And Sony definitely started out on the right foot...
**UPDATE - Want to watch the conference? Click here.
Uncharted 2 Demo
Holy shit! Naughty Dog knows how to bring the roof door, err, the entire building down is more like it. Their demo of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was absolutely mindblowing. The cinematic experience of the demo blows pretty much everything out of the water, except maybe Metal Gear Solid. Also, the multiplayer beta goes live tonight at midnight for those that picked up a copy of inFamous. Just FYI.
MAG Live Demo
Next up was a live demo of MAG in action, showcasing the 256 players online battles. Can you say impressive? The game is a FPS where everyone playing is broken into different squads, each with their own unique objectives to beat the current level. That means 256 player online co-op. MAG is only available for Sony PS3.
PSP
The next phase of the Sony conference was dedicated to the PSP and the new PSP Go. But before the PSP Go was shown off we were told there would be a bunch of new bundles for which to buy a PSP with. Some of them include Rockband, Assassin's Creed, and a Hannah Montana bundle with a pink PSP. The crowd went crazy for this one. No joke.
Then the PSP Go is shown off, and exactly how small and compact it is. The Sony rep jokes about how it was the worst kept secret of E3 but that didn't stop him from talking it up. Also, support for the PSP 300 will not end and gamers can expect PSP titles to be downloadable through the PSN network, or hard copies can be purchased from store shelves.
Also, the PSP tools for developers will drop in price by 80%. Making it much easier for develoeprs to get behind developing games for Sony's portable system.
And finally, the PSP Go will hit retail shelves at teh asking price of $249.99.
