Deadpool, more TMNT news, and Batman delayed.

Crave Online's weekly gaming news returns in glorious high-definition! The goal of this feature is to update gamers on a weekly basis with the news that's important, none of the fluff. Every week there is a multitude of gaming news that hits the net. Most of it sucks ass. Who really reads gaming news to find out when the new Barbie game is getting downloadable content? I sure as hell don't, and I'm guessing you don't either. Therefore it's the job of this column to round up the best, most awesome news in the gaming industry, the stuff that makes us excited to be gamers, and condense it into one eatable, bite-size tablet of awesome. So open wide, this pill gets inserted straight up the back-end..

Batman: Arkham Asylum Delayed

Hey there Bat-fans, I got some bad news to report. We got official word from Eidos that Batman: Arkham Asylum is delayed till "end of summer." Their reasoning--"this additional time will allow us to ensure Batman: Arkham Asylum is of the highest quality for gamers." So it seems like it's all about quality control which I can respect. And hell, Eidos already came out and said this game is as close to perfect as they've come, so they better deliver.

King of Fighters International Tournament

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of King of Fighters, Sony Computer Entertainment and Ignition Entertainment are teaming up to host an international championship of King of Fighters XII. With the grand prize being a King of Fighters XII arcade cabinet imported from Japan. The tourney will go down on Saturday, May 30th, from 12-7 p.m. at Element, located at 1642 Las Palmas Ave, Hollywood, CA 90028. You can sign-up online here, but do it as soon as you can because it's first-come, first-serve and only 128 fighters will be invited.

Deadpool confirmed for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

This really isn't much of a surprise since the 'pool already appeared playable in the first Ultimate Alliance. However, it is easing on the soul to know the character will return without having to wait till the game hits shelves, making us rush out to get our dirty little meat hooks on it and find out. Deadpool is one of Marvel's best characters in my humble opinion so this is good news all around. And to take another dig at X-Men Origins: Wolverine, this is how you do Deadpool right!

Footage of XBLA Turtles in Time

Friday we ran a news article about TMNT: Turtles in Time making a comeback via the Xbox Live Arcade with a complete visual overhaul. Well we now have some footage to back it up! Courtesy of GamerVision, check out the footage from the "Skull and Crossbones" level from Turtles in Time. The only nit I have to pick is that the movement seems uber fast from what I remember it looking like at the arcade and on the SNES home version. But once you get the game in your hands it might be a completely different story and feel right at home with the good old days.
