Jeff Rubenstein over at Playstation Blog has posted a short list of games SCEA plans to showcase at this year's E3. Some of these games are heavy hitters in Sony's line-up and I'm chopping at the bit for some new info on them. So far we got:
Heavy Rain
If you watch that trailer above from the 2006 E3 conference you will see that this "game" looks very promising. While it doesn't show much in the way of game-play, it does show how well the developers, Quantic Dream, have captured human mannerisms with life-like virtual actors. Since that 2006 showcase Heavy Rain has released some game-play footage which depicts the entire game as one long interactive cutscene made famous by such games as Resident Evil 4, God of War, etc. But Heavy Rain looks to meld video gaming and film to a point that even the Metal Gear Solid series hasn't achieved. And for that reason, I'm excited.
White Knight Chronicles
White Knight Chronicles is a game developed by Level-5 and has actually been around since December of 2008. Released in Japan nearly half a year ago, White Knight Chronicles has gone on to sell over 310,000 copies. Now it's finally making that journey across the seas. And while I can't understand Japanese the general gist I'm picking up from the trailer is that a boy and girl, who were friends from childhood, meet up a bit later in life and then they go on an adventure--traversing cities on top of giant turtle's backs, fighting evil lords, and conversing with frog people. Bring it on!
Motorstorm Arctic Edge
This guy is coming out for the PSP as well as the Playstation 2, proving Sony still supports their old hardware. Snowmobiles, dune buggies, trucks, and Alaska. Throw in some beers and strippers and that's a good, ol' fashioned party.
Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier

Probably my personal pick of the bunch, Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier marks the long-overdue return of best duo in gaming. Seriously, I've been waiting for news on a new Jak & Daxter game for about four years now (Jak X Combat Racing doesn't count). And even if it isn't coming to the PS3, only the PSP and PS2, I'll take it any way I can get it. And E3 is looking like the place to drop some serious news on the title, and hopefully show it up and running. Until then, oogle the screen cap above.
SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3
SOCOM has really come into its own on the PSP and Fireteam Bravo 3 marks the latest release in this successful franchise.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Another showcase from Naughty Dog, this time for the Playstation 3. I absolutely can't wait for this title. It looks fantastic, and if it's any indication from the first title, it will play fantastic. This is high up on my list of most anticipated titles of 2009. Therefore, more press and media is extremely welcomed. Bring on E3 already!
So these were but a taste of what Sony plans to bring to the table at this year's E3 conference. The bloggers over at Playstation.Blog also urge readers to shout off in the comments section of the original post asking for fan questions, which will then be used on the game developers once the show rolls around. So if you got something to ask, hop on over to the Playstation Blog and say what you gotta say. Make your questions heard! Just don't be the guy that asks how will Uncharted 2 end.
