E3 is getting closer and closer and we want to know what you think is the most exciting game about this years E3 out of the top ten. Take a look at these ten games and then vote in CraveOnline's Most Anticipated Game of E3 poll. at the bottom of the page.
Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe
Publisher: Midway
System: PS3, Xbox 360
It’s Superman, Batman, and other greats throwing down on classic MK characters, while this might seem like an unlikely combo…..it should still be awesome. Plenty of screen shots have already been released, and with the new free fall fighting system, this is a game that I think will end up being quite the classic despite the naysayers who think it's a bad idea. E3 will hopefully provide even more game play looks for those who have been patiently waiting.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Publisher: LucasArts
System: Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, Nintendo DS
It’s a star wars game that doesn’t involve Legos, but does involve a whole new look at Dark Force Powers…..need I say more? Seriously though, the game plans on linking the two trilogies together, as you are Starkiller, Darth Vader's secret apprentice and your sole mission is to take down every single Jedi that survived Order 66.
Sonic Unleashed
Publisher: Sega
System: Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2
The newest Sonic game from one of Sega’s biggest and longest running franchises. Lots of skepticism is shrouding this game right now, after the flop that was the first Sonic game on the 360, but with SEGA promising a complete reboot, the SEGA owners of old are still holding out hope that the game could be good, however only the release at E3 will tell.
MadWorld
Publisher: Sega
System: Wii
A new inventive game exclusive on the Wii, that looks a bit like Sin City bringing an older feel to the wii. While Platinum games doesn't really live up to their name, because they don't typically come out with huge hits, they may have just broken that streak with this one. The game will be a black and white, third person blood fest, that promises to at the very least be a cult classic.
Left 4 Dead
Publisher: Valve
System: Xbox 360, PC
A new survival horror game that should give Resident Evil and Alone in the Dark a run for its money. The premise of the entire game is that four people must work together in order to survive...you guessed it, a zombie attack. It will have an all new style of game play promising to focus on a co-op feel which is of course, something that most zombie games just don't do. With it being a Microsoft style title, this may be a game that PS3 and wii owners are jealous of.
Gears of War 2:
Publisher: Microsoft
System: Xbox 360
Seriously……a sequel to what is still one of the best games on the 360? Can’t Wait. Gears of War has some of the best graphics out there, and it proved that to be a good shooter game, it doesn't have to be first person. Gears of War 2 has such an epic feel, that it rivals the excitement Halo 2 received. Will it deliver however? My instincts say yes. They haven't added a ton yet, but they are trying a new engine that is continually growing, and every update is pointing to another instant classic.
Fallout 3
Publisher: Bethesda SoftWorks
System: PC, Xbox 360, PS3
With every news release on this game anticipation grows, with the biggest announcement yet to be at E3 this could be the big one. Amongst these news pieces the two most exciting are the intricate child hood character creator and the fact that the game can have over 500 endings, promising the first game to literally have unending replay value. However after E3 we are hoping to see an official trailer, as well as a release date announcement and some killer screenshots.
Resident Evil 5
Publisher: Capcom
System: Xbox 360, PS3
Resident Evil 5 could easily be considered the greatest Zombie Game Franchise ever, and with the announcement for its fifth installment this game should be no exception. This game is literally at a solid 50-50 on how it could go, as the early talks are screaming of hidden racism throughout the game. However, the fourth game had such a pull with it that, that alone could push past any first concerns, E3 will be the first and best real look at the game until it is closer to its release date, so it will be one that no one should miss at this year’s E3.
Street Fighter IV
Publisher: Capcom
System: PC, Xbox 360, PS3
Vega Looks cool…….and Street Fighter is always fun. While this game is estimated for a release in 2009 the big talks are surrounding the character list, which involves every single character from Street Fighter 2, (which is so far the most popular game), so if they update the graphics and even leave the game play, it would promise to be an instant hit. However we will have to see with the E3 display exactly what they have in store for the game play.
Spore
Publisher: Electronic Arts
System: PC and Mac
This game is like Sims with creatures, and the anticipation has been building for quite some time. In fact the game was announced years ago, and people have been begging to find out exactly what the game will entail and even more so will it live up to it's creators promises? Now that we have a release date set for a short two months away, guests at E3 can expect plenty of game play footage, as well as a demo set up. Hopefully this will be a huge bone thrown to those who have been waiting for all those long years to see if this game will live up to its hype.
Make sure to check out our Poll (on the bottom right) and vote for the game you are most excited about at E3 this year.
