Plenty going on this week, as we get announcments of new equipment, and open betas, not to mention continous voting for a certain wall crawler game coming out this fall.

Nexon America the U.S division of Asia’s leading online gaming company started their open beta yesterday for the game Combat Arms, which will be free to play and is an online FPS. While Combat Arms, will not only offer free online competition to players all over North America during this open beta trial, the game will actually remain free to play online once it’s official launch happens at an unannounced date later this summer. The game will not only feature new exclusive maps, and weapons testing, but a whole online community with message in boxes, and clan creating giving a nod back to the days of Halo 2 online. Any one interested in signing up need to simply go to www.combatarms.nexon.net

Xbox Live Arcade announced today that for the first time ever the original game that started it all, Soul Caliber, is now available for download on the market place. This will give a new generation a chance to see where this great franchise started almost nine years ago, by simply spending the 800 Microsoft Points online, then you can enjoy the full 3D fighting game that is still the highest rated fighting game in history. Of course this comes with perfect timing as Soul Caliber IV is about to be released at the end of this month.
Spider-Man’s Web of Shadows creators are continuing their campaign where fans have been able to log on to Seizecontrol.com to vote for various aspects of the game, including last year at comic-con where fans got to vote on voice actors, and other fans have voted on the models used to design the females of the game, the newest voting however has fans picking the packaging of the game from several different designs all feature Spider-Man looking upon a destroyed New York City. However the campaign isn’t even stopping here where future polls will allow fans to pick gifts for pre sales, game play content for future downloads and more. So make sure you are hitting up www.seizecontrol.com to continue voting all the way till the game releases this fall.
NYKO Media announced yesterday that they would be creating a new Hub for the PS3 which will consist of three extra USB ports as well as a SD memory card holder, while those who purchased the 60gb PS3 could care less, those with a 40gb will see this as a happy welcome. The Hub is sleek and fits the look of the system while not taking up much more room. The hub simply clicks into one of your available USB ports, and basically makes it much more functional and a better deal than the 60gb, now if they will only come up with a way to make the 40gb backwards compatible there will be no need for the 60. The Hub is expected to come out next month and will have a retail value of $19.99
GoLive2 has announced today that they will be developing a way to create PC gaming motion censored to bridge the gap between hardcore PC gamers, and the casual ones. “The Stix” will be a controller that Wii owners will be incredibly familiar with as it looks almost exactly like the WiiMote. The remote will also feature a box that you hook up to your PC which will of course be the censor box to make the “Stick” motion activated. While we don’t have an estimated price, (nor estimated court date when they get sued) we do have a release month, which will be this August. So if you can’t find a wii, make sure to just turn your PC into one next month.
