Movie tie-in game looks promising.

Activision games will be bringing Kung Fu Panda from the big screen to the small screen with a version of the game slated for every next gen system. Following the story from the film, players will take control of Po the Panda as he prepares to fight against the evil Tai Lung.

The game will feature most of the cast from the film as characters featured in the game including Master Shifu and the Furious Five (Monkey, Tigress, Viper, Mantis and Crane). It looks like at least some of these characters will be playable in game.

“Kung Fu Panda gives kids the chance to experience firsthand their favorite movie moments, as well as new levels and hilarious situations created specifically for the game,” said Kim Salzer, vice president of Global Brand Management, Activision Publishing. “The humor, lovable characters and non-stop action will deliver hours of fun that they can enjoy on their own or with parents and friends.”

Players will be able to play through the movie story as well as special levels and story added specifically for the game. Players will be challenged to build up powerful combos in order to combat the various enemies in the game like the Great Gorilla, the Wu Sisters and main bad guy from the film Tai Lung. There will also be challenging puzzles and physical obstacles in order to add diversity to the in game action.

The movie looks really funny and I have it on good confidence that the game will be surprisingly good as well.
