Since its release in September 2007, Halo 3 has lost no steam with its fans. While some thought it might lose its luster after games like Call of Duty 4, Halo 3 proved to stand strong as millions of people still log on to Xbox Live every single day to challenge each other to various types of slayer and objective games.

Of course Bungie, in the never ending pursuit of not letting their gamers down, has developed the Legendary Map Pack, giving gamers even more territories and more options of death and destruction. The three new maps will be sold for 800 live credits and will be; Avalanche, Blackout, and Ghost Town.

Avalanche will be a throw back all the way to the original Halo and was inspired by the level Side Winder, giving players a huge land to have big battles in. The Biggest revamp to this level will be the interiors of the level making them more expansive. Another huge change will be the addition of the Hornet, finally bringing a new flyer to the world of multiplayer. Blackout will be a level for the lovers of Halo 2 providing the revitalization of Lockout from the famed sequel and will adhere very strictly to the original level just giving it a more “human” look. This will be the perfect level for small slayer groups, and mini team games.

The third and final level will be Ghost Town, and it is completely new and original which bungie promises to be: “a battle-scarred maze of narrow passages and dangerous ruins. Collapsed ceilings and shell-battered buildings provide both valuable cover and deadly traps, as catwalks and stairways take the fight from claustrophobic ground combat to dizzying rooftop battles. Ghost Town is a mid-sized map ideal for Team Slayer games and smaller, objective types.”  The other major plus of this release is that finally the Heroic Map Pack is free to download to all Xbox Live subscribers. This will give you yet another 3 maps at the price of free….making it even cooler.
