A look at ten new games (with trailers) for March.

March Gaming Guide

It’s time again for a look at the latest crop of games for March.

Bully: Scholarship Edition

Developer: Rockstar Vancouver

Genre: Action Adventure

Release Date: 3/4/2008

The Scoop

In a nutshell, Rockstar cared about wii and 360 owners enough to make purchasing Bully worth there while. Instead of simply porting over the PS2 version they made several changes and additions for each system. The X-Box 360 got a graphical overhaul, as well as additions side quests. A couple of new modes were added to both systems including offline multiplayer challenges.

The Deal

Odds are good that PS2 owners could testify that this game is worthy, baiting the hook with a few new options over the previous version should make a huge difference. Rockstar games tend to be pretty good.

Army of Two

Developer: EA Montreal

Genre: First person Shooter

Release Date: 3/6/2008

The Scoop

A last minute delay has this game hitting shelves months after its intended release date. Honestly I hope this game is awesome, games should take as long as they should take. The studio made changes to the partner recovering system, removing the healing minigame, and made changes to games lighting effects.

The Deal

This game is going to offer a serious alternative to the current online multiplayer. All I can say is you’d better get to know your NPC’s.

Condemned 2: Bloodshot

Developer: Monolith

Genre: Action Adventure

Release Date: 3/11/2008

The Scoop

The first Condemned game was a great launch title for the 360, it really showed off the potential that the machine had. The second title looks to make a serious expansion over that last game. By adding a multiplayer feature they had reason to really develop the unarmed combat controls. It looks like they may really be onto something.

The Deal

Multiplayer will open this game up to a whole new user base. If the controls work out, this might end up being a game of the year candidate.

{PB } Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Developer: Ubisoft Montreal

Genre: First Person Shooter

Release Date: 3/18/2008

The Scoop

I’m not going to waste your time my friends, take a look at the trailer to reaffirm what you already know, this game will be awesome.

The Deal

On and offline multiplayer will be the sticking point of course. A lot of time was spent perfecting it, and it will likely be worth it.

Okami

Developer: Ready at Dawn

Genre: Action Adventure

Release Date: 4/15/2008

The Scoop

A last minute bump puts this game in your hands in about three weeks. That’s probably good news if the game isn’t ready yet. If your not familiar with the PS2 version of the game, image a game that used paint strokes in order to attack and do other things. Now imagine being able to do that sort of thing with a wii remote. Nuff said.

The Deal

The PS2 version was a sight to behold. Its safe to say that the wii can do the game graphical justice, and even enhance the game with the remote.

Midnight Club: Los Angeles

Developer: Rockstar San Diego

Genre: Racing

Release Date: 3/28/2008

The Scoop

The second Rockstar game to make the guide this month, Midnight Club is also a tried and true franchise for the development house. This game looks great and the Los Angeles map looks to be massive.

The Deal

The game will be open world, and should have some serious reply value as good racing game tend to do. This game should be a lot of fun.

NBA Ballers: Chosen One

Developer: Midway

Genre: RPG

Release Date: 4/21/2008

The Scoop

Not really a basketball game in the sense that you can play in the NBA, but a basket ball game in the sense that you can live a dream o to speak. The game looks great, and should be appealing to the same sports game players who are into the more traditional. Not due until next month however, it should be worth the wait.

The Deal

Get the chance to take on your favorite NBA players and get rich while you do it. This game looks like a lot of fun.

The Force Unleashed

Developer: LucasArts

Genre: Action

Release Date: Second Quarter 2008 (Wii version)

The X-Box 360 version of the game is due out on the first of April, but whatever to that, I’m sure it will be good. No, the sad news is that  its still unclear exactly when the wii version will hit stores. I can’t wait to swing my lightsaber and destroy my enemies. When this game hits we will be telling you all about it.

The Deal

After Legend of Zelda came with a sword and shield, Star Wars fans got to thinking, and waiting. The wait is almost over.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII

Developer: Square Enix

Genre: RPG

Release Date: 3/25/2008

The Scoop

Set seven years before the Playstation classic, Crisis Core lets the player assume the role of a character that was only seen briefly in a flashback sequence from the recent game. The gameplay takes elements from the traditional turn based game but allows the player to move the character around the battle field in real time. The games controls utilize targeting an opponent in order to carry out attacks. The story features locations familiar to the original game but will have a host of brand new characters.

The Deal

This is Square Enix we’re talking about, this game is going to feature great gameplay, and impossible cut scenes. Get this game if you own a PSP.
