To get you out of this midsummer funk, the folks at CraveOnline decided to present to you, a brand new list of games that you can lose sleep playing. Sorry guy’s but you’ll have to wait until September to play Medal of Honor, but we think there’s a few other games that might make you forget about the Big One for a while, namely Madden Football 08’. We’ll just leave it at that, here’s the list by exact release date.

Wave Race 64: Wii

Boogie: Wii

Early reports on this puzzle game show a lot of promise, and with the success of games like Guitar Hero at home, the stage looks set for this Wii game to really take off. Mixing dancing, karaoke, and (get this) video editing to create a diverse gaming experience. Nintendo is good for developing games that are easy to pick up and play for almost any household, so gamers should expect no different from Boogie, this is definitely one game to look out for.

Madden Football 08’: Multiple systems

Release date: August 14th.

Grabbing up the exclusive rights to the NFL was a huge blow to their competitors, now EA has to make sure that they produce a superior game that will provide gamers a reason to come out and buy the next installment of the franchise. Be on the lookout for the new ‘NFL Weapon’ mode which consists of star players who have a statistical advantage over lesser players. Shaun Alexander is the only weapon known at press time, but there will be 24 weapons in total. Marshall Faulk will lend his voice to the pre-game commentary this year as well.

Bio Shock: X-Box 360

Release date: August 21st.
Developer: 2K Games

2K Games makes a run at FPS greatness with Bio-Shock, a new take on a flooded market. What will separate Bio Shock from others in the genre is the way the player can interact with the game and the environment itself. The player can choose to approach the game relying solely on all the tactics he or she has learned playing games like Doom and Halo, or they can embrace carnage and destruction ona whole new level by using the environment to vanquish their enemies. Check this game out, it looks pretty hot.

Mercury Meltdown Revolution: Wii

Release date: August 20th
Developer: Ignition Entertainment
Genre: Puzzle

Another puzzle game for the Wii has made our list, this time its Mercury Meltdown Revolution, the first in the series to hit the Wii. Instead of controlling your blob of mercury with the controller, you instead tilt the Wii remote in order to tilt the stage that the blob exists on, like tilting a piece of glass with a drop of water on it. The mercury becomes harder to control because of obstacles and other hazards. While the game might sound challenging, all reports lean towards it being highly addicting.
