As a friendly service reminder –and because we’re just as excited to play it as you are — the Dragon Age II demo is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The demo will be releasing on the PlayStation Network and PC later today.
The demo lets you play as Hawke during the game’s prologue. Not only will completing the short demonstration open up a “new key location” in Kirkwall, but the demo also lets you use a new weapon: the Hayder’s Razor. This weapon is “an ancient dwarven blade which increases health, mana, and combat abilities, in the full release of Dragon Age II.” Cool.
Furthermore, BioWare has issued a Call to Arms. If 1 million people download the Dragon Age II demo on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC before March 1, BioWare will unlock two new items for the full game’s release:
The Far Cliffs of Kirkwall – Written by a Fereldan refugee as she fled the Blight, this book of poems describes her dreams of a new start in Kirkwall, the city across the sea. Readers will surely be enriched by her insights. (Gives money when read.)
Lothering’s Lament – Written by a Fereldan refugee as she fled the Blight, this book of poems contains touching reminiscences of all she had to leave behind. Readers will surely benefit from her experience. (Gives XP boost when read.)
Dragon Age II release on March 8, 2011 in the US, and March 11 in Europe for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
