After all the teasing, Ubisoft has finally, officially revealed Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, the third and final chapter in the saga of Ezio, which started back in Assassin’s Creed II.
But Ezio isn’t the only familiar face showing up in Revelations. Players can also expect Assassin’s Creed I protagonist, Altair, as well as contemporary-era-assassin-to-be Desmond. This game will finally show how these three characters’ fates intertwine. As for setting, Revelations moves the action to Constantinople during the “heart of the Ottoman Empire.”
“Delivering the final chapter of the Ezio trilogy is an important milestone in the Assassin’s Creed franchise for us and for our fans,” said Ubisoft Montreal creative director, Alexandre Amancio.
“Assassin’s Creed: Revelations includes lots of new features and some significant surprises. We can’t wait to show our fans what we have in store at E3 this year.”
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations will also feature new weapons and tools, as well as a “newly customizable multiplayer mode.” Game Informer actually has the scoop on the title as it’s their June cover story. In fact, look below for the issue’s cover and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations’ first screenshot.
If Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is anywhere near as robust as AC: Brotherhood (with the quality to match), then we’re 100% game for this new title. As of now, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is aiming for a November 2011 launch. Expect more about the title from Ubisoft at E3 in June.
