Konami just made my head explode at their pre-E3 event. The company announced three new HD collection bundles, which include Metal Gear Solid, Zone of the Enders and Silent Hill. I’ll give you a moment to get an ice pack for your aching jaw that just crashed down to the floor.
I’m going to keep this rather brief, because not a lot of details were provided. These HD Collections were announced via a trailer that Konami premiered.
But here’s what we know thus far:
The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will include Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Yes, the PSP masterpiece is making the transition to HD consoles and is being bundled with two of the greatest games ever made. You’ll also be able to transfer your save files from your PSP to your console. If you're wondering why the original Metal Gear Solid was left out in the cold, maybe it's because all PS3s can play original PS1 titles.
Next up is the Zone of the Enders HD Collection, which is a cult classic series amongst Kojima Productions diehards. This HD pack will include Zone of the Enders and Zone of the Enders 2. Finally, the Silent Hill Collection will come with Silent Hill 2 and 3.
All of these HD collections will come with HD visuals (obviously), new art, textures and sound. Achievements and trophies are also being added. And the real kicker: all of these collections will be available on both PS3 and Xbox 360.
You can expect the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection this November, while Zone of the Enders will launch sometime in 2012. Konami did not provide an exact date for the Silent Hill HD Collection.
Go, be merry! This is glorious news!
