Activision is currently making the rounds with a new press release that sheds some light on what the upcoming Call of Duty XP convention will offer to those who purchase tickets. The event’s biggest draw is no doubt the $1 million tournament where 32 players will compete in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on stage at the event. The top eight teams will all be able to dip into the massive money pool, but the winning squad will walk away with $400,000.
Call of Duty XP will be the destination to get an early preview of the entertainment that will be hitting the Call of Duty Elite service. Will Arnett will actually be in attendance to premiere a new content series he is working on alongside collaborator Jason Bateman as part of their dumbdumb production company. You’ll also get a sneak peek at We Can Pretend’s latest Modern Warfare-inspired short film, as well as a new installment in Pro vs. G.I. Joe, pitting celebrities against U.S. troops in Call of Duty over Xbox Live.
Finally, attendees will be able to take part in a paintball firefight across a life-size replica of Modern Warfare 2’s “Scrapyard” level. They’ll also have the opportunity to speed-run Modern Warfare 2’s “The Pit” training sequence and ride on a zip-line for the hell of it. A Call of Duty museum will also be available for fans to peruse and check out concept art and unique memorabilia from the entire franchise.
If you’re interested in going, tickets are on sale now.
