Konami has officially confirmed the release date for the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. You can run, not walk to the store to snag the collection on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 on November 8, 2011.

If you haven’t been following along with our continual coverage of the title, the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection contains Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, all remastered in high definition with added achievement/trophy support. As an extra bonus, the collection also includes the original MSX2 Metal Gear titles, Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. That’s five complete Metal Gear games for $50.

The only unfortunate part of this news is that this awesome collection is being released on the same day as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Let us also not forget that November sees the release of Uncharted 3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, to name a few. To say there are already a bunch of games releasing in November is a vast understatement. Hopefully the MGS HD Collection doesn’t get lost in the shuffle. It definitely deserves the attention, especially by those who have yet to experience the joys of the Metal Gear Solid series.
