We now know the official launch date of MLB 13: The Show on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita – March 5, 2013.
Sony posted the date on their official blog today, indicating that a cover athlete contest is in the works as well. We’ll hear more about that in the coming weeks, though.
As for MLB 13’s feature set, Sony promises a new “Playoff Mode,” replicating the excitement of October baseball like no other game before it. Additionally, expect a new beginner's mode and enhancements to the franchise’s staple “Road to the Show” mode.
The PS Vita edition will feature all the upgrades and features of its console brethren, and, like last year, you’ll be able to save between the PS3 and Vita versions to continue your progress anywhere. Unfortunately, the post does not specify if MLB 13 will take advantage of Sony’s new “Cross-Buy” promotion. But if we had to venture a guess, chances are pretty high that will be the case.
