Last month was a pretty stellar thirty days for gaming, capped off by Mass Effect 2's launch. February doesn't have a ton of titles worth getting excited about, but what it does have is pretty solid. Firstly, we're finally getting the sequel to Bioshock. Secondly, we'll get to see how good Visceral Games' rendition of Dante Alighieri's classic poem is. But that's not all February brings, so read on to find out what else will be worth your hard earned bucks this month.
Bioshock 2
System: Xbox 360, PS3, PC
Release Date: 2/9/10
Finally, a return trip to Rapture. Jack's story from the original Bioshock might be over but this time players get to take control of a Big Daddy. But not just any Big Daddy, the first to be successfully merged with a little sister, codenamed "Subject Delta." This means out with the wimpy wrench and in with the gigantic drill arm! Bioshock 2 also introduces a new "boss" enemy type to the franchise called the Big Sister, one of the original little sisters saved by Jack in the first Bioshock that couldn't adapt to the world above Rapture over the two year time gap between titles.
So expect more plasmids, more crazy ADAM junkies, and more creepy little sisters wondering where "Mister Bubbles" is. Bioshock 2 is going to be hot!
Dante's Inferno
System: Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, PC
Release Date: 2/9/10
One part God of War, one part Dante Alighieri's classic poem, Dante's Inferno is one strange combination. There is no doubt that people are looking for any reason to hate on this merger of seemingly non-compatible works, but Dante's Inferno is actually pretty good. Yes, it's essentially a God of War clone, but if you're going to copy something it might as well be the best. Dante's quest to save his beloved Beatrice from the clutches of the Devil's creeper fingers begins this month, with lots and lots of bloodshed.
