A New Look for Harley Quinn in Arkham Asylum

The Joker's leading lady gets an awkwardly kinky update... weird.

That’s Harley Quinn's new trailer. She even addresses the costume change within. Oh, and fans of the animated series will love the fact that the unmistakable voice of Arleen Sorkin will be behind Quinn.

Harley Quinn. You know, out of all the female villains in the DC Universe, she’s always been the one that disturbs me the most. Her deep, psychotic love for the Joker is enough to make anyone sick. Her willingness to bend, even break, for the benefit of her desired beau makes her so desperately horrible.

And now she’s awkwardly, video game sexy. Well, damnit. This just paints a picture that’s all sorts of wrong. Harley Quinn, how’d you go from this:

To this?

And sure, I realize that the animated iteration wasn’t the first of Quinn, but it’s the one that I am most apt to associate with the character. Well, that iteration and Jim Lee’s version from Hush. But I’m not one to stand in the way of costume changes. And this scenario’s no different.

We’ve also been given a villain’s profile to show you folks. So, why the hell not?

Harley Quinn

REAL NAME: Dr. Harleen Quinzel

OCCUPATION: Professional criminal

BASE OF OPERATIONS: Gotham City

EYES: Blue

HAIR: Blonde

HEIGHT: 5 ft 7 in

WEIGHT: 140 lbs

FIRST APPEARANCE:
Batman: Harley Quinn #1 (October 1999)

An Arkham Asylum psychiatrist assigned to treat The Joker, Dr. Harleen Quinzel instead became obsessively fixated on her patient, believing herself to be in love with him. She helped him escape confinement and took on her own criminal identity as Harley Quinn. Quinn is a violent and unpredictable felon whose only motivation, beyond general mayhem, is achieving The Joker’s approval. Because of his cruel and mercurial nature, this in some ways makes her just another of his victims—albeit it a very dangerous one.

Attributes:

* Surprising strength and stamina
* Superior gymnastic skills
* Total disregard for human life
* Like The Joker, she is a homicidal psychotic who escapes easy classification

Batman: Arkham Asylum is set to release on June 23rd for the PS3, 360 and PC.
