In the single player campaign, you can only play as a new Ghostbusters recruit, acting as the guinea pig for the original four to test out some new equipment on. |
In the co-op campaign, however, you can actually play as any of the original four. (I call dibs on Peter Venkman!) Not only that, but the co-op campaign will feature alternate maps, power-ups, enemy A.I. and achievements. Obviously a Ghostbusters "death match" set-up wouldn't make any sense, so you'll have to work together in various quick-play match types like "containment", "survival" and "slime dunk" (which I can only guess is some kind of basketball type game with proton packs).
