Today, Activision and Treyarch announced the first downloadable map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, called “Revolution.” The pack comes with four multiplayer maps, one Zombies mode map, an all-new Zombies game mode, and a new multiplayer weapon.
The four multiplayer maps are “Mirage,” a luxury resort in the Gobi Desert; “Grind,” a map made of half-pipes and skate ramps in Venice Beach, California; “Hydro,” a map set in Pakistan where you must watch out for floodwaters; and “Downhill,” where you’ll take the fight to a French Alps resort.
This marks the first time in Call of Duty DLC history that a new weapon will be introduced with DLC. The “Peacekeeper” is a new SMG that comes with its own set of weapon challenges.
Lastly, Revolution adds the Zombies mode map “Die Rise,” which ships players to the Far East, where they will “attempt to overcome a zombie infestation inside a series of collapsed skyscrapers towering over the remains of an obliterated Chinese city.” Additionally, Treyarch is finally adding the ability to be turned into a zombie in Zombies mode.
Black Ops 2’s Revolution DLC will drop on January 29, 2013, for 1200 MS Points. As is the case will all past DLC, Revolution will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 for the time being. If you bought a DLC Season Pass for Black Ops 2, Revolution will be free.
