![]() By Aaron Seaney | So I figure with Secret Invasion hitting shelves this week, and Brand New day being a really good read, that we might as well give some love to everyone’s “Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.” Spider-Man is a franchise that has had tons of video games produced based off of the Marvel Character. While some of these games weren’t as fun as others, this franchise sky rocketed once the movies became blockbusters and one of the greatest sequels to any movie and game were created. |
Game: Spider-Man 2
System: Xbox, PS2, GameCube (Backwards Compatible on 360, PS3, Wii)
Price: 8.99-11.99
By the time Spider-Man 2 hit the shelves RockStar games had already revamped their ever popular Grand Theft Auto franchise and introduced the world to “free roaming.” So what cooler thing to do of course than give Spider-Man the same ability? This opened up Spider-Man to a whole new world of possibilities. No longer did you get to “swing” like Spider-Man, meaning you had to follow a very specific path, but now you could freaking swing like Spider-Man, as in look around New York and go wherever you want, including going to the top of the Empire State Building where you can then swan dive off.
In all honesty the swinging was so fun in this game, I won’t even bother bragging about any other aspect. The fighting was cool enough, the story was short, the graphics were actually worse than the first game, but yet it didn’t matter, because you could swing whever you want. This is a game that will give you the Spider-Man feel like no other game will. So spend the 12 bucks and go out and have an afternoon of free swinging and beating the crap out of evil doers everywhere. Trust me, it will be worth it.
