This week I decided to give a toss back to a game that was pretty amazing on last gen consoles. I figure with all the hype around its sequel it is also time to give it some love anyways. Besides when a game becomes this dirt cheap, AND is backwards compatible on your other systems then there is no excuse for you to not check out Soul Calibur II.

Soul Calibur was like most other fighting games in the sense that you and your friends could throw down on each other for mindless hours. What made Soul Calibur original however, was the insane amount of modes there were for you to play through. You had arcade mode, you had vs. mode, you had time attack, and then you had my personal favorite, weapons master. This was a mode that actually had a story, and you fought through countless amounts of opponents. What made this mode really cool however was cavern and dungeons exploring where you could find new characters, weapons, power ups etc.

Another really cool feature was the variety of characters, and not just in game but among systems as well, where you could be Link from Zelda on the GameCube, or Todd McFarlane’s Spawn on the Xbox giving you even more variety than any other game. It’s also worth noting the incredibly high replay ability of this game; you will honestly find yourself wanting to play it more in more, as there are just countless amounts of things to unlock. With all these features and more, there is no reason what so ever you should not already be heading to your local retailer to pick this game up. See ya next week when we hit the streets.
