Alanna Masterson is an American actress. She is best known for her portrayal as Tara Chambler on the hit AMC series "The Walking Dead."
Alanna Masterson is one of the few actresses out there who was literally born into show business. By that, we simply mean that she made her debut in the world of entertainment by appearing on the cover of Parent Magazine. Even without that, however, she still would have grown up in the spotlight, as both of her half-brothers Danny and Christopher Masterson were major stars of the series "That '70s Show" and "Malcolm in the Middle" respectively as she was growing up.
Alanna was born in Long Island, New York on June 27, 1988 to Carol Masterson and Joe Reaiche, who was a former Australian Professional Rugby League Player with the Sydney Roosters and the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Growing up, she developed her taste for acting from tagging along with her brothers Danny and Christopher on sets, even occasionally landing a role on one of their series like she did in 2006 when appearing in a guest role on "Malcolm in the Middle," and again in 2014 on TBS' "Men at Work." She has gone on to guest on series such as "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" and "Grey's Anatomy," eventually landing her first recurring role on 2010 series "First Day."
By 2011, Alanna was already the recipient of the Best Actress Award at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival for her work in the film "Peach Plum Pear." Such recognition of her acting talent is likely the reason she was able to land the role of Tara on the hit series "The Walking Dead," a role she took on in 2013 as a guest. By the show's fifth season, she had become a full-fledged series regular.
