Ali Cobrin is an American actress. She is best known for her roles as Molly on the 2010 television series "Look," Kara in the 2012 film "American Reunion," and Whitney in 2014's "Neighbors."
Alexandra Arley "Ali" Cobrin was born on August 8, 1989 and grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. A self-proclaimed tomboy growing up, she always tried to imitate her older brother Mickey growing up. Along with dressing in boys clothes, this included playing numerous sports as well. Sadly, while she was is actually quite athletic from a physical standpoint, competitive sports such as basketball and soccer were not her forte. However, when she eventually stumbled upon track and field, she had found her calling in the school sports department, winning many races and even doing well enough to make the Junior Olympics.
It was Ali's love of dancing as a child that eventually lead her to transition into acting later in life. She began learning the basics of tap, jazz, and ballet by the time she was just 3 years old, and by 12, started performing the ballet numbers in a local production of The Nutcracker every Christmas. She also began spending her summers training at schools such as the American Ballet Theatre and the Joffrey Ballet School in New York. Of course, once her dad took her to a production of Chicago at 13, she knew it was time to make the step towards the performing arts and transferred to the Chicago Academy for the Arts. She majored in musical theater.
At 17, Ali moved to Los Angeles and eventually signed on with Elite Model Management. They helped her book roles in several commercials for brands such as AT&T and 7-Eleven before landing her first television series gig on the Showtime series "Look" in 2010. This exposure went on to land the actress many more acting gigs over the next several years, including her breakout role as Kara in the 2012 comedy sequel "American Reunion."
