Amanda de Cadenet is a photographer and host of the series “The Conversation With Amanda De Cadenet.” She has also appeared in the films “Four Rooms,” “Fall” and “Brokedown Palace.” But she might be most famous for simply being famous in the 1990’s, where she was considered a wild child and partied with Courtney Love and dated Keanu Reeves, and Duran Duran’s John Taylor.
Amanda de Cadenet is the daughter of British racecar driver Alain de Cadenet. Growing up, she said, “I went from being able to walk down the street and being ignored to hitting puberty and having men whistle at me. I was an insecure young girl and it felt good to have attention, even though it was inappropriate.” In an interview with the Daily Mail she said she was sexualized early and was “struggling to find an identity and seeking to fill the loneliness with anything I could.”

Amanda de Cadenet began modeling when she was 14. Her career as a television presenter began when she was fifteen “as the host of two of the UK’s most successful television shows. What can I say, I started young and quite frankly needed a job once I got out of the juvenile detention home that I spent some time in.”
She met her future husband John Taylor when she was 16, and they married three years later. She gave birth to her first child when she was 19. She left London and sought a normal life in Los Angeles. While in LA, she worked as a photographer and is the youngest woman to shoot a Vogue magazine cover.
As for her partying ways, she said, “The benefit of starting so young is that I finished young, too. I stopped taking drugs at 20, so I’ve had 20 years of a very clean lifestyle.”
After 15 years, she returned to television in 2012 with the interview series “The Conversation With Amanda De Cadenet.” She said, “I wanted to create a show where women talked about issues that were central to their lives.”
She has been married to Nick Valensi of The Stokes since 2006. She was previously married to John Taylor from Duran Duran. She said, “I have about 30 close female friends but only two male ones – Keanu and my husband.” She added, “My relationships with women have always been strong, but for the earlier part of my life the only relationships I had with men were sexual.”
Amanda de Cadenet currently resides in Los Angeles.
