Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on April 14, 1975, Amy Christine Dumas aka Lita is best known for her role as a WWE Diva.
On Twitter, she describes herself as: I used to smash people for a living in the WWE, host of Punk Rockalypse on Project 961. I swing iron and hang out in cemeteries. Pee Wee follows me so I win.
As a child, Amy Dumas went to a variety of schools, but finished school at Lassiter High School. She briefly attended Georgia State University before dropping out. In Washington, D.C., she played bass guitar in some bands and then worked as a roadie. From there, she took judo classes. Once Amy returned to the United States, she worked as a valet and was eventually booked as Miss Congeniality for Extreme Championship Wrestling. The rest is history.
Amy retired from wrestling in 2006 and then formed a band called The Luchagors. They released an album in 2007. Music has always meant a lot to me, and Ive always had a bunch of friends in bands. I was talking a lot [about forming a band] and finally some friends of mine called me outI couldnt come up with a good enough excuse not to. So I just went for it (community.livejournal.com).
That same year, she took a job as a radio DJ for a punk show called PunkRockalypse. When asked about wrestling, she said, I dont miss it. Maybe if I didnt do any other form of entertaining in front of a live audience I would miss it, but I still get my fill of being an entertainer, just not in the ring (philalley.blogspot.com). Her favorite memory of wrestling was the time before I broke my neck, when I still felt invincible.
Amy Dumas said about her personal life being played as a story on WWE, I was just so overwhelmed with what was going on. My work life had become a soap opera, and my life was a soap opera. It was tough. It was surreal. But it all comes with the territory of being an entertainer (wrestlingforum.com).
Aside from wresting, Amy has appeared in a variety of television shows, including Fear Factor, Weakest Link, Dark Angel, Headbangers Ball, and WWF Superstars Edition. She has also appeared in a whopping thirteen WWF/W video games.
Regarding charity, Amy Dumas is an animal lover and founded the Amy Dumas Operation Rescue and Education program. She currently lives in Georgia.
