Bio

Emily Bett Rickards was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on July 24, 1991. From a young age, she became very interested in musical theatre and dance. Along the way, she began to focus more towards the area of dramatic acting. She had such drive for what she was doing that she wound up graduating from high school early and began attending the Vancouver Film School, where she eventually graduated from the Acting Essentials Program.

Upon completing her studies at the Vancouver Film School, Emily decided to attend an open call audition, where she was able to attain a talent agent. At the same time, she also began studying at the Alida Vocal Studio in Vancouver, as well. With all of this training under her belt, it was only a matter of time before she started landing professional acting roles. But prior to film and television, the young aspiring actress took the parts she could get, which included the lead in the 2008 music video for Nickelback's "Never Gonna Be Alone."

It was a rough couple of years, but Emily finally struck gold in 2012 when she was cast in her first major television role on The CW series "Arrow," where she played the character of Felicity Smoak. From there, she has gone on to play another major role on the series "Soldiers of the Apocalypse," all the while maintaining her place as Felicity Smoak. As luck would have it, the success of "Arrow's" sister series "The Flash" has massively played out in Emily's favor, as the two shows now plan to to do regular crossover episodes each season, giving her twice the work without the hassle of having to play a new character.
