Inbar Lavi got into acting by a very unique circumstance. Born in Ramat Gan, Israel on October 27, 1986, her childhood saw her suffering from asthma so badly that she was forced to use a nebulizer for 45-minute increments at a time. While she was tied down with this, she watched a lot of movie and soon became engrossed with wanting to be an actress herself. In particular, her inspirations included fellow Israeli-American actress Natalie Portman and Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer.

Of course, just because Inbar took a shine to acting from an early age, this didn't mean she wasn't interested in other activities as well. In fact, she was actually quite a talented young dancer and spent much of her time studying ballet and modern dance at the Kiarat Sharet School of Arts in Holon before switching over to the Sophie Moskowitz School of Acting in Tel Aviv at age 16. From there, she decided that acting was definitely her passion and moved to New York City in 2004 to pursue it for the long haul.

Inbar didn't spend more than eight months in New York performing in off-Broadway productions before being accepted to the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Los Angeles. This was the final push she needed to get her career on the right track, as by 2006 she was starring in her first English-speaking role as Cordelia in a production of "King Lear," and followed this up in 2008 with her first small role on the TV series "Privileged." From there, the roles kept coming and soon she had guest starred on a number of series including "Entourage," "Ghost Whisperer" and "In Plain Sight." These roles went on to land her even bigger ones, as by 2012 she was playing her first series regular role on "Underemployed," which lead into substantial roles on series such as "Gang Related" and "The Last Ship."
