Jessica McNamee is an Australian television and film actress. She is best known for her role as Lisa Duffy on the soap opera "Home and Away," as well as Sammy Rafter on the series "Packed to the Rafters."
While little is known of her childhood here in the US (having grown up in Australia), Jessica McNamee seems to have gotten her start in television on the soap opera "Home and Away" in 2007. The role of Lisa Duffy, which she played on the Seven Network series for 32 episodes, paved the way for her most memorable and long-lasting role to date on the series "Packed to the Rafters," where she played the "good girl" character named Sammy Rafter.
It wasn't until after leaving "Packed to the Rafters" as a series regular in 2010 that Jessica's career really began to take shape. While she had been a cast member on the very popular and successful series for two years, it seemed to limit her ability to land other roles due to the aforementioned "good girl" persona she was known for. Alas, once she moved on, her career became full of opportunity and less full of taking on celebrity contestant roles on "Dancing with the Stars," which she failed to win in 2009.
With her Australian television career in the backseat, Jessica was free to focus on new roles here in the US. By 2012, she was starring alongside Rachel McAdams in the romance drama "The Vow," followed by a guest spot on "White Collar the following year. In 2014, she managed to pull a double whammy by not only being cast as a series regular on the USA Network comedy "Sirens," but also in a recurring role on the Australian series "The Time of Our Lives."
