She earned the nickname La La from Ludacris, and she said no one calls her by her birth name, ever, unless it’s her mom, “if I’m, like, in trouble.”
La La Anthony has appeared in a variety of television shows, including “Flavor of Love,” "I Love New York,” “Charm School," “For the Love of Ray J,” and “La La’s Full Court Life,” among others. She’s also appeared in the films “Think Like a Man” and “The Gun.”
La La Anthony is married to basketball player Carmelo Anthony, though when they met she was “totally against it…we started off as friends, because I think when you build a relationship with that kind of foundation you have a little bit more of a chance to go all the way.”
They have a son, born in 2007. La La said about cheating, “If we think too much about what’s going on when we are not there and checking phones and cracking email codes, that will drive a woman crazy. You have to be secure in yourself and hope for the best.”
As for her business relationship with her husband, she said, “I want us to be married and in love. I try to keep business separate from marriage. When we are together, I want our focus to be our marriage, not necessarily the next business deal.”
The three life lessons she’s learned are: stay humble; treat people how you want to be treated; and keep God first and everything else will follow (lorensworld.com).
She also has a make-up line, Motives for La La, which is focused on foundation for African-American and Hispanic skin.
La La Anthony splits her time between Los Angeles and New York.
