Lily Sullivan is an Australian actress known for her role in the 2012 film, "Mental." She also starred on the second season of the TV series "Rake," as well as NBC dramedy, "Camp."
Lily Sullivan comes from the city of Carbrook, Queensland, Australia. She was trained to be a screen actor at the Wild Child Acting and Dance Studios in Springwood, Australia by coach Phillip Jones. Right away, he could tell that Lily had the "x-factor" that he looks for in his students, and with his training and supervision, she was able to land her first big-screen role as Coral Moochmore in the 2012 film, "Mental," which starred actors Toni Collette and Liev Schreiber. In order to win the part, Lily, with the aid of Mr. Jones, put together an initial audition tape, followed by one with five separate scenes (one of which required her to cry). The role eventually came down to Lily and one other actress, but Lily came out the victor.
Director P.J. Hogan compared Lily to another relatively unknown actress that he had made famous in one of his previous films, "Muriel's Wedding," in 1994. He said of the young actress "When I cast Rachel Griffiths, she was not how I imagined the part, but she was the only actress for the role. She had star quality. I could see it. And when she acted opposite Toni [Collette], they had a great chemistry together. It was the same thing with Lily." (Herald Sun) Clearly, Lily has something not every actress has, and it has become even clearer with the passing of time.
