In high school, she was active in sports and played softball, and later played first base at Pasco-Hernando Community College. Michelle McCool earned her Masters degree and taught 7th grade science for four years. During this time, she also competed in National Physique Committee fitness contests and taught private gymnastics.
Michelle McCool joined World Wrestling Entertainment as a competitor in the 2004 WWE Diva Search, and though she didnt win, WWE signed her to a three-year deal and she debuted on SmackDown!
Michelle McCool was raised a Christian and she incorporated crosses into her wrestling outfits. Notably, her signature move was the Faith Breaker. Her career highlights include being a Divas Champion; Womens Champion; winner of the 2008 SmackDown Top Diva Competition; and finalist in the WWE Diva Search. She said, Its not easy to filter out all the negative things people say and/or write about you. Its not easy to go down the road less traveled. Its not easy to always be yourself. Michelle McCool left wrestling and retired at the age of 31. When asked why, she said, Its nothing that has culminated overnight. Thats for sure. Im mean, Im going on six yearsits a dog-eat-dog world and in a mans world, too. Its just a fight, every single week, this job. I was in it to win it. Aside from wrestling, Michelle McCool has also appeared on television programs such as Family Feud, Project Runway, The Best Damn Sports Show Period, Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition, and Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader.
Once married to her high school sweetheart, they divorced. Michelle McCool is now married to Mark Calaway, better known as The Undertaker. The have a child together, a baby girl, Kaia Faith Calaway.
When asked if she would return to WWE, Michelle McCool said, Well, thats not my intention at all. Right now Im just trying to breathe for a little while. And, you knowenjoy life and see where it takes me. So hopefully, I can just take that attitude and let it carry me from today to the next day to the next day
