Michelle Trachtenberg is an American television and film actress. She is best known for her roles in films such as "Harriet the Spy" and "Eurotrip," as well as the television series, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
Michelle Christine Trachtenberg was born on October 11, 1985 in New York City. She was raised by her mother, Lana, who was a bank manager, and father, Michael, who was a fiber-optics engineer. She also has an older sister named Irene. Since her mother is Russian, Michelle was taught to speak the language fluently as well. She and her sister attended P.S. 99 Elementary School and The Bay Academy for the Arts and Sciences in Brooklyn before Michelle eventually moved to Los Angeles to attend Notre Dame High School.
Even though she attended school throughout, Michelle was acting professionally by the time she was only three years old, with her first official gig being a Wisk laundry detergent commercial. She's since gone on to star in over 100 commercials for various products. Her actual television series acting began in 1991, when she played a small role on "law & Order." She was then cast as Lilly on "All My Children" before taking a more prominent role on "The Adventure of Pete & Pete" from 1994 to 1996. This, of course, lead to her first breakout role as the titular character in the film, "Harriet the Spy."
From here, Michelle's career has never slowed down, nor does it show any signs of doing so. By 2000, she was playing her most famous role to date, Dawn on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," and when the series ended in 2003, she picked up a major role in the college film, "Eurotrip," the very next year. She has since gone on to star in films such as "Black Christmas" and "Take Me Home Tonight," as well as held regular roles on series such as "Mercy" and "Gossip Girl."
