Nicole Murphy is a former model probably best known for being Eddie Murphy's ex-wife. She was also in a relationship with Michael Strahan. She has appeared on the VH1 reality show "Hollywood Exes."
Nicole Murphy was born and raised in Sacramento, California. Growing up, she said she was quiet and shy. “I was more or less a tomboy because I hung out with my brothers and I always wanted to be with them.”
Her father was African-American and her mother was British. Nicole began modeling when she was 13 and worked in print. When she was 14, she entered an international model search contest and took home the top prize. She later signed with Ford Modeling.
She subsequently traveled to Europe as a teenager. She returned to the United States when she was 20. She said, “I really didn’t know I was going to be a model – it just went that way for me.”
Nicole Murphy met Eddie Murphy at an event at the NAACP Image Awards. She said it wasn’t love at first sight. “I thought, ‘Oh, that’s Eddie Murphy.’ Back then I thought, ‘He probably gets a lot of girls.’” She said while she was with him she didn’t want to have her own image in entertainement. “I was content with who I was.” She was married to Eddie Murphy from 1993 to 2006 and they have five children.
Apparently, after her divorce, she made bad investments and lost a lot of her settlement. She told "Entertainment Tonight", that after having five children, she had plastic surgery. “When I had my fifth [child], I said I’m getting some new titties.”
Nicole Murphy launched a jewelry line in 2009 called FLP. In 2012, she was cast in the VH1 reality show “Hollywood Exes.” She did the show because “I was asked so many times to appear on different reality shows and I always turned them down. When this one was brought to me, it was interesting because it involved other girlfriends of mine. I thought that might actually be fun.”
Nicole Murphy added, “I’m generally a private person so opening up and letting the world see me and get to know me as who I am has been a big adjustment.”
Nicole Murphy said, “People expect me to be this stuck up ice queen, but when people get to know me they say, ‘You’re really cool and down to Earth.’”
She stays in shape because she’s into fitness. “I work out at least four to five days a week and have made it a lifestyle so it fits into my routine when when traveling.” Nicole Murphy resides in Los Angeles.
