Riya's first love was dancing. She was always an A+ student and a go-getter. Growing up, she was picked on because of her frizzy and curly hair and her big lips. Seems times have changed. Those lips are now an asset. She was a fan of "Bollywood," the Indian film industry.

Per her imdb.com page, Riya Ray speaks Hindi, English and Bengali. She can dance hip-hop and Indian Classical. Her measurements are 34-25-34.5.

Riya Ray entered the modeling industry in 2006, at first apprehensive about it and took a break to work a 9 to 5 job.

Riya has been featured in major campaigns for more than a dozen companies, including L'Oreal, Sunsilk, World Gold Council, Dakato Smith and Reliance Communications. She was the cover girl for T3 magazine and has been featured in Vogue (India) and in Femina as one of the 100 most beautiful women in India.

About modeling, Riya Ray said, "I think it's fantastic to be a Indian-born model in the U.S., though there's a lot of competition. And the going isn't easy. So, I'm also exploring modeling opportunities in India. I've worked with some international magazines, and have been listed as the face to watch out for by Tyra Banks" (idiva.com).

Riya is also a popular music video model, appearing in David Guetta's video "Where Them Girls At" and with Snoop Dogg for the title track of the Bollywood blockbuster "Singh is King." She has also been featured in Skoda Calendar 2009.

Riya Ray believes in the saying by Rabindranath Tagore that "everything comes to us that belongs to us if we create the capacity to receive it. One just has to make himself/herself the best where there is no room for anyone to point finger[s] thereby leaving no stones unturned " but never going against one's conscience, then all the efforts made are useless!"

Riya Ray has a business degree from London and has worked in an ad agency in Chicago. In order to maintain focus she does "a lot of yoga and meditation to keep the mind and body balance. I think the glamour industry is frustrating. It's not always the thirst for success, which makes people vulnerable by the hope of finding people to genuinely love after finding that success! We're lonely even under the spotlight and in a crowded room."
