Winter Ave Zoli is an American television and film actress. She is known best for her role as Lyla on the FX series "Sons of Anarchy."
Winter Ave Zoli was born on March 30, 1980 in New Hope, Pennsylvania, but is of Czech ancestry on her father's side. That would explain why, at the age of 11, her family moved to Prague, Czechoslovakia to run the famous Radost FX night club/restaurant. It was while living in Prague that Winter started to get more in touch with her roots. Throughout her time there, she attended middle school and high school at the International School of Prague, studying ballet until that developed into a love of musical theater. From there, you couldn't get her off the stage, and a star was born.
By age 13, Winter began using her location to her advantage as far as acting was concerned, gobbling up any audition opportunities from productions passing through from both Europe and the United States. At 17, she began attending the Carnegie-Mellon summer school theater program, enrolling in the Atlantic Theater Company acting school in New York City two years later. The school was founded by playwright David Mamet and actor William H. Macy.
As for Winter's actual legitimate acting experience, while starting out in smaller roles in films such as "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" and "Hellboy," it was a character she would go on to play on television's "Sons of Anarchy" in 2009 that would go on to gain her international recognition. Playing the role of porn star Lyla on the series, she was able to garner a big enough following to remain with the series until it came to an end in 2014.
Winter currently resides in Los Angeles. In her free time, she enjoys activities such as horseback riding, yoga, and running the canyons of Los Angeles.
