The scientists and engineers across the pond working for Newcastle Brown Ale have made a major technological breakthrough. For decades fans of the Brown Ale have wondered how they could enjoy Newcastle on tap without having to leave their current location.

With some help from the folks at Heineken, Newcastle is launching a technological advancement known as the DraughtKeg. This amazing innovation in ale portability allows people to enjoy the freshness that was previously only available to bar and pub patrons, but in the comfort of your home!

Behold the DraughtKeg below!

Newcastle Keg

The DraughtKeg is designed to hold 1.33 gallons (or 5 liters for the Europeans) of Newcastle. In non bar math that’s about 10 cold, tasty pints of Newcastle. It is nice that the keg keeps the Newcastle fresh for a month after tapping, but in all honestly it will be empty long before that.

For those of you already playing the home version, the Newcastle DraughtKeg is also compatible with the Krups BeerTender, an appliance designed exclusively for the DraughtKeg. If you already have a BeerTender then you know that it can chill the DraughtKeg while maintaining the correct temperature.

Look for the Newcastle DraughtKeg in select grocery and liquor stores. You can expect to pay about $23 bucks for the DraughtKeg, which is a deal if you ask me.
