Pass-through is simple. The rear seats fold down, usually in a 60-40 split, granting access to the trunk and the main compartment, increasing cargo storage ability.

I used the Kia Spectra's pass-through seats this weekend to carry 7 bags of cedar mulch, three flats of flowers, a 25-pound bag of bird seed and a box of gargbage bags from Lowe's to the "job site." The car was fine with the weight and my rear view vision was not obscured.

Also in this podcast we address the fallout from my "I Hate Tiptronic" podcast, and point out some of our listeners comments about the transmission. If you're interested in learning about VW's DSG system, you may want to check out this article at Green Car Congress.

Also of interest for those vehicle shoppers concerned with interior cargo volume, check out the new Fuel Economy Guide from the EPA. In the rear of the book, you'll find cargo interior volume numbers for most vehicles in their index entries.
