2014 Jaguar, Land Rover Light Up Auto Show Circuit

New Jaguars like the 2014 F-Series are snagging a lot of attention on this year's Auto Show circuit.

Legendary British automakers Jaguar and Land Rover (…And, I don’t care who owns them. They’re British. Now and forever…) are making a lot of fuss and behaving very non-British during this season’s Auto Show circuit.

Maybe Britain’s spectacular 2012 – filled with Diamond Jubilee’s and Summer Olympics – has two of its favorite car builders feeling their beans. Regardless, there are multiple new offerings from the companies popping up around the world.

Starting at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, rolling through the 2013 North American International Auto Show (… Isn’t the fact it’s International make it North American? … ) and taking in the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, Jag and Land Rover are calling attention to themselves – with more news to come soon in Paris and Geneva.

The big push kicked off in Los Angeles during the Jaguar and Land Rover British Invasion. To a massive gathering on the Paramount Studios lot, Jag rolled out the all-new 2014 F-Type, while Land Rover debuted the new Range Rover.

The F-Type aspires to be the modern successor to one of the greatest iconic cars of all time, the E-Type. Debuting in 1961, there is no car that is both so cool and so British.

As for the F, the entry-level version uses a supercharged 3.0 liter V6 engine producing 340 horsepower. That seems like plenty for a two-seater, but the F-Type S hands you 380 horsepower,, while the F-Type V8 S offers a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 495 horsepower.

With all those assorted horses and automatic transmission (…Please offer a manual, Jaguar. Please…), reported 0-to-60 times are 5.1 seconds for the standard car, 4.8 seconds for the S and 4.2 ticks for the V8 S.

In addition to the F-Series, Jaguar lovers should be on the look out for the XJ and XF with Instinctive All-Wheel Drive, the XKR and the XFRS.

Alongside the new Range Rover, Land Rover is showing off a Range Rover Sport, the Evoque, the LR4 and the LR2.

We’re still waiting to see the emergence of the new Land Rover Defender introduced during last year’s auto show season, but you can’t everything right away.
