Toronto Fashion Week In Full Swing

This week is jam-packed with shows from some of the best fashion designers in the country and beyond.

Toronto Fashion Week

Another instalment of Toronto's World Mastercard Fashion Week got off to a good start yesterday, with a number of high-calibre designers showing off their 2013 fall lines.

Designer Izzy Camilleri opened with her new collection MIZ by Izzy Camilleri. “The line is cut with distinct considerations for the confident woman who doesn’t want to look like who she was, but who wants to look like the woman she is,” said the designer in the days before the show to The Star. “Being 50 or 60 isn’t the same as it was 40 years ago."

Chloe Comme Parris, Pink Tartan, and Bustle were also featured in runway shows on opening night, followed by an invitation-only Holt Renfrew Opening Night Party.

Today, fashionistas can expect to see designers like Laura Siegel, Klaxon Howl (who is a new addition to Fashion Week), David Dixon, Line Knitwear, and Sid Neigum dressing up models who will strut their stuff down the catwalk. For a complete calendar listing of shows for the week, visit Fashion Week's official website.

Most of the week's activities are being hosted at David Pecaut Square. World Mastercard Fashion Week runs until March 22nd.

But it doesn't end there – Toronto continues to be a hub of fashion's best right through till the summer, when show designer Christian Louboutin makes his first stop on a global tour in Toronto. According to the Toronto Star (as reported on Fashion Week's site), the Louboutin exhibit will be held at the Design Exchange starting at the beginning of the summer. The French luxury designer will invite guests into the design process, with sketches, materials used, and the actual shoes created and coveted by women and men around the world.
