A few notable mentions this week, my fellow travelmates…
The luxury Omini Hotel in Montreal has been busy – in addition to a $20-million reno they underwent this past April, which included the renovation of their 299 spacious guest rooms and suites, lobby and culinary venues, they've also just opened the new Alice Bar. Designed by internationally acclaimed interior decorator Alexandra Champalimaud, whose distinguished resume includes the Waldorf Astoria in London and Boston's The Liberty, the new lobby bar of the Omni celebrates the golden age of Montreal's Golden Square Mile, and will surely become one of the most sought-after go-to haunts in the city.
Also notable on the renovation front: The Wyndham Orlando Resort, located on the world-renowned I-Drive, recently announced plans to bring an unprecedented resort concept to Orlando with an extensive multi-million dollar re-imagination including the addition of an estimated 25,000 square feet of new, highly flexible function space, state-of-the-art communications, floor-to-ceiling remodel of all guest rooms and suites with resort-chic décor package, an expansive new modern lobby, and the addition of surrounding I-Shops restaurants and retail shops. Initiating these dynamic enhancements in late August, the re-imagination will take place throughout the remainder of 2012, with anticipated completion in May 2013.
