Two Canadian labels, Chloe comme Parris and Amanda Lew Kee, will be participating in the designer lineup for the next instalment of New York Fashion Week.
The line-up for GenArt's Fresh Faces in Fashion was revealed late last week and includes the two distinguished Canadian names, who will take to the runway on September 9th at Pier 57. The announcement further proves the impact Canadian designers are making on the fashion world globally.
Chloe comme Parris out of Toronto was started by sisters Chloe and Parris Gordon and is a contemporary fashion and accessories brand that transforms historical ideas of adornment into a modern and wearable context. The effortless designs embrace the unity between masculine and feminine, soft and hard.
Amanda Lew Kee launched her brand at the ripe age of 19 while attending Toronto's Ryerson University School of Fashion, debuting at Toronto's World Mastercard Fashion Week. She has worked closely with the entertainment industry, designing looks for the cast of HBO's hit show "True Blood" and creating custom pieces for actress Shenae Grimes as well as world-renowned DJ Deadmau5.
Other participants in GenArt's Fresh Faces in Fashion include Anne Sofie Madsen, COMEFORBREAKFAST, Gretchen Jones, and A-Morir. The brands will present their spring 2013 collections in both men’s and women’s ready-to-wear.
