Are We There Yet? – A Trip To New Hampshire

Winter in one of North America's most beautiful areas.

I absolutely love New Hampshire – I've been to various cities and towns there on a number of occasions, and I can't get enough of the friendly people, the beautiful surroundings, and the general feel-good feeling I have when I'm there.

There's a lot going on in New Hampshire for the winter months (by far one of the prettiest times of year to visit the state), with everything from new developments at ski resorts, new tours, and lodging improvements. Here's what's up in this New England area:

Bretton Woods, Bretton Woods, NH – Bretton Woods is adding lift service to the Mount Stickney area of the resort. They recently added 30 acres of glades, which will now be serviced by a 2,000-foot Doppelmayr T-bar lift. The glades are also being expanded to include some steep drop-offs for adventurous experts as well as more wide-open glades for less-experienced skiers and riders. www.brettonwoods.com

Black Mountain in Jackson has also undergone a number of improvements and is definitely worthy of checking out.

Mountain Club on Loon, Lincoln, NH – The 234-room Mountain Club on Loon underwent a $9-million renovation. All guest rooms have completely renovated bathrooms, flat screen TVs, new carpeting and furniture, free WiFi, and user-friendly in-room heating and cooling systems. The Mountain Club is also offering ski & stay deals this winter starting at $68 per person, per night. www.mtnclub.com

Woodstock Inn & Brewery, North Woodstock, NH – The Woodstock Inn and Brewery has construction underway on a $3 million expansion, which includes a 150-seat function hall and room to expand brewery operations. The Woodstock Inn features 33 rooms in five Main Street locations. The Woodstock Station seats 300 people and the upscale Clement Room Grill seats 60. The Woodstock Brewery crafts more than a dozen year-round and seasonal beers. www.woodstockinnnh.com

The Wine, Cheese & Chocolate Tour, NHDTTD – The New Hampshire Division of Travel and Tourism Development has added the Wine, Cheese and Chocolate itinerary to its Tasty New Hampshire collection, which currently includes the Brewery Map, Ice Cream Trail and Chocolate and Martini Tour. The new itinerary features three loops around the state, from the "Near Coast Trail" to the "Valley Vineyards, Orchards and Dairies" and "Meandering the Merrimack and Lakes". Covering 31 wineries, cheesemakers and chocolatiers in New Hampshire, the Wine, Cheese and Chocolate itinerary contains a wealth of information about each property, including detailed listings with website, phone number and location information.

The Adrenaline Tour, NHDTTD – New Hampshire is home to some of the best adventures in New England. The Adrenaline Tour highlights the variety of thrilling zip-lines around the state; over lush scenic vistas to high-flying through the trees of the White Mountains. Experience the range of uniquely New Hampshire adventures that everyone can enjoy. The Adrenaline Tour features ten high-flying adventures ranging from Alpine Adventures to Wildcat Mountain.
