Ticketfly Makes Its Way To Canada

Concert ticket provider goes head-to-head with Ticketmaster.

Those who are avid concert-goers will soon find there's a new ticket seller in town – Ticketfly, out of San Francisco, is vying to compete with Ticketmaster and become the new go-to distributor of tickets to concerts across the country.

After not only acquiring the Calgary-based ticketing company Prime Box Office, they also hired former Ticketmaster Canada director of operations Bruce Morrison, who is now the general manager of Ticketfly. The company is vowing to be cheaper than Ticketmaster when it comes to fees. It also said that it will be able to provide e-tickets via Apple's Passbook format.

Ticketfly was founded in 2008 by Andrew Dreskin, the founder and CEO of TicketWeb, the first company to sell tickets online in 1995, along with Dan Teree, the former president of TicketWeb. According to their official website, the "San Francisco Business Times" recently named Ticketfly the fastest-growing technology company in the area.
