HTC Hero Revealed

Touch-screen phone featuring the Android OS and Adobe Flash support.

As a T-Mobile user generally happy with their service, it pains me to see that their current selection of phones is rather obsolete, with nothing truly comparable to Apple's iPhone 3GS. Yet, there's hope with the upcoming release of the myTouch 3G coming in August. However,  it would be even more competitive for all carriers, if HTC's sleek new phone, the Hero, makes its way to T-Mobile USA, which for now, has only been confirmed for select Asian and European carriers, such as T-Mobile UK.

HTC's Hero, promises a lot of innovative features in its touch-screen interface, including a slimmer profile than its G1 predecessor, as well as eye-catching contemporary design features. The Hero-specific Android operating system update, introduces not only Google's best web products, but also a customizable interface, where users can add widgets and modify their appearance, placement, etc. However, what will make this phone most competitive to the iPhone 3GS, Adobe has supplied the support to Google and HTC to make the Hero one of the first smart phones to employ true web-based Flash support, meaning, Flash websites are optimized for display on the device.

This phone would be a serious iPhone market-share stealer, if it makes its way to the States because realistically, there have been few companies to match both Apple's features, product design, and user experience. The HTC Hero is definitely a close contender.
