LA Auto Show: MOPAR Sneaks Tweaked Dodge, Fiat

MOPAR showed off some of its sexiest custom jobs just prior to the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.

With the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show on the horizon, MOPAR (the performance service and parts company) teamed up with their partners at Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep to show off some customized rides for lucky automotive journalists to drive.

The event took place at the Automobile Driving Museum near LAX. For any Los Angeles area gearheads who've never visited, put it on the list of must-sees for its vintage collection (all of which are in perfect working order).

MOPAR brought with it custom rides that were previously on display at the 2012 SEMA show in Las Vegas to show off what MOPAR designers could do with the company's line of performance enhancers . The difference this time was journalists had a chance to drive many of them.

The showcase also celebrated MOPAR's 75th Anniversary. Once a single auto parts line, MOPAR now does business in more than 120 countries with 3,500 suppliers selling more than 500,000 accessories.

Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of MOPAR, engineers and designers were on hand to introduce the line of
the company's  2012 SEMA project vehicles. That collection included:

  • Dodge Charger Juiced
  • Jeep Sand Trooper
  • Dodge Viper
  • Dodge Dart Carbon Fire
  • Dodge Dart Slingshot
  • Chrysler 300 Luxury
  • Fiat Beach Cruiser
  • Fiat Cafe Racer

We journalists didn't get a crack at the lethal Viper or the Darts, but everything else was fair game. The most entertaining run available had to be the Charger Juiced. Its interior was incomplete, and it had to be jump started with an external battery because its electrics were a work in progress. But, once running, it terrified children for a mile in every direction with its maniacal roar.

Unfortunately, you will never get a chance to drive these custom tuners, but you get a look at them below.
