Greek Politician Punches Female Opponent on Live TV

We don't think we'll be seeing much more of this guy.

The live debate is a moment that can make or break a politician’s career. This guy didn’t just break his career; he shattered it into 1,000 pieces.

It started with a debate leading up to the June 17 elections, when Ilias Kasidiaris, the spokesman for Greece’s far-right Golden Dawn party, got way too fired up. Everything was going about as expected between the rightie and noted lefties Rena Dorou and Liana Kanelli (everyone was screaming over everyone else and no one was listening) when things quickly went downhill for Kasidiaris.

First, Dorou referenced a court case pending against Kasidiaris and he responded by throwing a glass of water in her face. Then Kanelli got out of her chair to try to calm Kasidiaris down, and he threw three punches at her. Classic political discourse.

A public prosecutor immediately called for Kasidiaris’ arrest following the attacks. Needless to say, we doubt this video will make an appearance in his next campaign commercial.
