A man in Massachusetts is facing felony assault charges for allegedly attacking his 11-year-old stepdaughter with a fresh batch of McDonald’s fries.
Moments after picking up food from the drive-thru window at McDonald’s, James Hackett, 26, began arguing with his wife about money. The argument escalated, causing Hackett’s stepdaughter to intervene with hopes of getting the two to stop fighting. An allegedly rage-filled Hackett didn’t take too well to the intervention, so he did what any caring father would do and “picked up the container of French fries he had just purchased, which were hot and oily, and threw it at the girl, striking her in the face and chest area.”
Hackett’s wife called the cops. Hackett was arrested then charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Although it would probably be more fitting to call it a salt-and-oil-battered dangerous weapon. Hackett has since been released on bail and has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Talk about an Unhappy Meal.
