Between the flashing lights, the flowing alcohol and the lovely ladies, it’s easy to get carried away at a strip club once you put that plastic down. Still, racking up a tab of $50,000 in one night seems a little excessive. Now it’s up to a Tampa court to find out if it’s even possible.
Lokesh Simon James claims to have spent $600 on a March night at the Bliss Cabaret in Tampa. Unfortunately, when he checked his account a couple of days later, there was a much larger charge to the tune of $50,000. Now James has filed a lawsuit against the club and one of its bartenders demanding his money back, plus cash for his legal fees.
James has no problem admitting he went to the club alone on a Wednesday night. He also doesn’t mind letting everyone know he managed to drop $600 on dances, tips and drinks. But the $50,000 charge is completely false, he says. When James contacted his bank to sort out the charge, he was told the charges could not be reported as fraudulent because he admitted to being at the location in question.
James’ lawyer has resorted to simple mathematics, claiming no man can spend $50,000 in one night at a strip club that only charges $20 per dance. The Bliss Cabaret has declined comment so far. We’ll leave this decision up to the judge.
No matter who wins in court, the real winner here is James, who somehow managed to make spending $600 on a solo trip to a strip club seem totally reasonable thanks to the much larger charge in question.
