The Solution to Your Gambling Problem

It's time to start betting on NBA hoops.

If you are anything like me, things have been a little less exciting for you after week 17 of the NFL season. Sure, the NFL playoffs are fun, but they also mean you no longer have a full slate of NFL games to bet on anymore, including games on Thursday and Monday nights. Furthermore, your fantasy football season has long been over and now that the Super Bowl has come and gone and you didn’t cash in with your Super Bowl squares, you have a need for some action. Well, my friend, indiana pacers, brooklyn nets, nba bettingI have the solution for you: It’s time to start betting NBA games.

Not only is the NBA fun to bet on because there are so many great games, but there is also a large quantity of games per week, and I have a system for you to not only get your fix, but win money while doing it, too.

The gist of the strategy that I am about to bestow upon you is that no trend can last forever. For example, if you are in Vegas and you walk by a roulette table and see that BLACK has hit eight straight times, you may think to yourself, “Man, RED has to hit here pretty soon.” And guess what? You are right. And the odds are only better for you when it comes to NBA games.

Using VegasINSIDER.com for my sports gaming information, I started using this system a little after New Year’s. My plan was to look for big trends, like a team going under the total for several consecutive games, and then when the time was right, bet against that trend. So for instance, if you look at the Indiana Pacers team page, you’ll see that on January 10, after their game against the New York Knicks, they had been under the posted total in six straight games. So, I decided to start a three-game chase betting on the OVER in Pacers games using this format:

Game 1 – 1 unit
Game 2 – 2 units
Game 3 – 4 units
(Note: A unit is what you would normally bet on a game when placing a single bet, whether that is $10 or $100)

Now obviously, if you win game 1 of the chase, you have ended the trend and profited one unit. The chase is over and you move on to finding other trends. But in this case, I bet on the OVER in the January 12 game against the Charlotte Bobcats and lost. Not to worry, though. The next night I bet the OVER again against the Brooklyn Nets, this time placing a bet of 2 units, and won! So although it took me two games, I still ended up +1 units.

This strategy applies to betting both over/unders and point spreads. For example, looking at the Dallas Mavericks team page you will see that from January 9 to January 20 they won every game ATS (against the spread). So, for their January 25 matchup against the Spurs I bet on them to lose ATS, and they did.

Now you may be thinking to yourself, “This is all fine and good, but how do I know when to bet against a hot trend and begin my three-game chase?” That is a good question, washington wizards, sacramento kings, john wall, nba betting and there really is no set answer. And that predicament can lead to a scary chase that results in you having to go to game 3 of your system and betting 4 units. Case in point: the Washington Wizards. When John Wall returned, the Wizards started playing better and won ten straight games against the spread from January 7 to January 26. Thankfully, my gut told me to stay away from them until they had cashed in eight straight games (I knew the public was undervaluing them because simply, they are the Wizards). So on the ninth game of their ATS winning streak I bet against them…and lost. I bet against them again their next game, this time doubling my bet, and lost again. Finally, on January 28, I bet against them one last time in their game against the Sacramento Kings, this time betting 4 units, and won. Because of the system, I still made a profit. However, anyone who started fading the Wizards before me would have been in trouble, so that is where the danger lies.

Fear not, though, my fellow gamblers, because more often than not, a trend that lasts five straight games is about to come to an end, and if you bet against it with the 3-game chase system, you will make a profit. Take a look at other teams’ trends on VegasINSIDER.com and you will see proof. It takes courage, it takes discipline, and it may require a little extra gambling money, but you’ll thank me when you are collecting cash from your bookie. Good luck out there.
